Janet S. Hingley Obituary
Janet S. Hingley, age 88, of Thorburn passed away on June 22, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville she was a daughter of the late Angus and Hazel (Blackie) Russell.
Janet was a resident of Pictou County all her life. She loved going to flea markets and yard sales. Janet loved to knit for her family and friends, she also loved spending time with her cat Midnight.
She is survived by her daughters Susan (Billy) MacGillivray, Thorburn; Bonnie (Todd) Mullin, Thorburn; daughter-in-law Georgia Hingley, Fox River; grandchildren Jason, Adam, Shannon, Kathy, Brent, Emily; great- grandchildren Claire, Max, Jack, Ryleigh, Ryerson, Ryken, Emilia, Piper, Easton, Jacob; great-great- granddaughter Olivia; brother-in-law Fred Hingley; Westville; sister-in-law Shirley Kirk, Bridgewater; grand- fur baby Penny.
She was predeceased by her husband Archie, sons Henry, Angus, David, Douglas; daughter Sarah; great-grandson Justin; a brother Jimmy Blackie, brothers-in-law John and Fraser Hingley.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 27, from 6 – 8 pm in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 2 pm in Union Presbyterian church, Thorburn with John Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery, East River St. Mary’s.
