Dear Ruth, Robert, Doug, Lisa and Andy,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your wonderful father and send heartfelt condolences to you all.
I remember when Jackie came to Calgary for Ronald's funeral with Leonard, Leo and Cindy. After a long day of travel, the crew came to dinner at our place. Jackie was very quiet and hardly said a word until I showed him a book about the history of Stellarton which included lots of photos of sports teams from Stellarton high school. I have never heard Jackie talk so much! He, along with brothers Leo and Leonard, had a story to share about every person and every team. It was an amazing evening spent listening to their stories, and helped me realize just how much sports played a pivotal role in the development of this great family of athletes.
Rest in peace, Uncle Jackie.
Sending love your way from Calgary,
Lisa, Gordon, Brianna, Mariah and Erica Walsh

Jack was a long time friend to my husband, Craig McCarron and enjoyed so very much hearing their stories when they were out West together. I also remember visiting the Thompson home on Sunday afternoons with my parents, who were friends of Jack's parents, when I was a young girl. I always remenber Craig saying Ruth was a "saint" to put up with them. May he rest in peace. My heartfelt sympathy to the Tompson family.
