Frances Cameron age 76, of Churchville passed away on June 16, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Esther (Fizzard) Riggs.
Frances grew up in Parkdale and later moved to Churchville where she has resided since 1967. She was a member of St. Georges Anglican Church in New Glasgow. Frances was also a member of the Women’s Institute and was the Past President of the Women’s Institute Bowling League.
She loved rug hooking, reading, baking bread, watching her favorite soap operas and Coronation Street.
Frances is survived by her children Dennis (Patricia) Cameron, New Glasgow; Esther (Mark) Weatherbee, Windsor; granddaughters Christine (John) Macdonald, Dartmouth; Samantha Cameron, Trenton; great-granddaughter Alexa Macdonald, Dartmouth; brothers Charles Riggs, Bruce Riggs; sisters Cassie MacDonald, Susie Sangster, Phyllis Cameron and Joanne Walsh; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Cameron and brother Roy Riggs.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Thursday, June 20 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 21 at 11 am in St. Georges Anglican Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Jeanne Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Diabetes Association.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the paramedics, VON and members of the Plymouth Fire Department for the excellent care they had given to Frances.
