I remember Melvin when he drove taxi for my grandfather the late Fred Brown at Fred's taxi on North Provost Street. My grandfather had the first two way radios and I was there a lot answering the phone when I was young. He was always very nice and respectful to everyone. Sorry to read he has passed away. Sincerely, Sheila (Brown) Chisholm.

We (Jack & Lynda) knew Mel since our childhood. when we bought our first house we were so green as to how to get it up and running. The furnace was a disaster and mel came and without one word or dollar he set the whole system up and later came with the statement. He was a gentleman and a wonderful christian. He always had a smile and such a twinkle in his eyes. It was an honor to know such a man and call him "friend". Lynda & Jack MacDonald

Ian and I would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Mel’s family. He was a wonderful, warm and engaging man. His sense of humour shone through if you paid him a compliment and with a straight face he would reply “Pardon me?” to get you to repeat the compliment! His faith in Jesus and his love for Doris and family will always be an inspiration. May happy memories help ease the hurt in your hearts and the knowledge you will see him again one day. God bless

So sorry Aiken's family on the loss of your dad. He truly was a wonderful man. He and my dad, Alex, and uncle Watson were great friends and fishing buddies.
He and your mom both were such gentle souls and the love of Christ certainly shone through them.
I am happy that your family has so many wonderful memories to carry you through this bitter sweet time of saying goodbye.
Remembering you all with love and prayers.
Sincerely,
Patti ( Sangster ) Cameron
