My Deepest Sympathy to Sylvia’s family and close friends. You have lost a very precious Mother, sibling, aunt and friend, but
Know she will live on forever in your heart. I only lived in Thorburn until I was 10 years old. I remember my Dad (Donald Johnstone)
Dropping me off in Greenwood at different times to visit my Aunt Edith and play with my cousins Sylvia and Katharine while Dad looked after some orders and pick ups. I wanted to send my condolences and let you know I often think about my relatives and time living in Thorburn. R.I.P. Sylvia.

Slyvia, aka Shirley to me, Heather , Laverne..was a much loved friend. We were basically travelling buddies, as we lived 2 hours apart , but we usually managed visits thru the summer also. My best memories of Shirl will be the crazy, fun things we did , the laughing most of all..she had such a dry sense of humor !! Also the grass stains on the white skirt from trying to walk up wet grass ( she was afraid of steps lol) & most of all her snorting when she laughed hard. She was a dear friend that I will miss terribly. Hopefully I'll meet you & Barb again up there & we can have more shenanigans together , love you !!

I really enjoyed playing cards with Sylvia and friends once a week. We had some good and friendly discussions over these cards games and was all in fun. I will surely miss these wonderful times together . Sylvia always served wonderful meals at these gatherings. You'll be missed Sylvia. Rest in peace. Elaine MacLennan
