Bonvie, Jeffrey Nathan-It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Jeffrey Nathan Bonvie on April 1,2024 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 39. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia to Darra MacBeth and Preston Bonvie. Jeff attended Westville High School and after receiving his grade 12, he continued his education by obtaining his Electrician Red Seal. Jeff excelled at hockey playing for Westville. He also enjoyed softball in his younger years and fishing with his brother Chris and grandfather, Vic. Jeff began his electrical career in Halifax working on a tall ship. He then moved on to work in the oil and gas industry in Northern Alberta, Manitoba and Northern British Columbia. He worked on many projects throughout his career, often being in a supervisor role as he excelled in that position. He was always known for his great work ethics, positive attitude, leadership, his smile and being one of the funniest guys on any project. Jeff loved the social life, traveling and concerts. He was loved by all the people he met throughout his work career, travels or wherever he was. He touched many people and left such an impression on all. Surviving are his father Preston Bonvie, New Glasgow, his mother Darra MacBeth (David Higgins), Westville; sister Stephanie Bonvie (Billy McIver), Pictou Landing; brother Shawn Bonvie, Calgary; step-brother Brian Higgins, step-sister Kristen Dunford (Corey), Vancouver; nephew Dylon Francis(Lindsay MacPherson), Pictou Landing; neices, Brianna Francis, Calgary; Rihanna Bell-Bonvie, Springville; chosen niece Jacy Bell-Miller, Springville; chosen sister-in-law Stephanie Bell, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents George and Sarah Bonvie, maternal grandparents Victor and Shirley MacBeth and brother Christopher Bonvie. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 25th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the H.W Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 26th at 11am with Rev. Charles MacPherson presiding. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow. angusfuneralhomes.com
