Sandra Marie MacKay Obituary
MacKay, Sandra Marie- It is with sadness that Sandra Marie MacKay, of Westville was called to her Heavenly Home on
March 27th, 2024 surrounded by her husband and extended family.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Bruce MacKay, her brother Fred (Anne) Blair, her Aunt Fanny Porter and various cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents Murray Blair and Edith Cavanaugh, sister Shirley Hanham, brothers, Richard Hanham and Art Jollimore.
Sandra was born on June 27, 1950 and grew up in Bible Hill. She was married to Bruce on August 21, 1981 and lived all of their married life in Pictou County where they built a great circle of friends through their work at Sobeys and social connections at the Stellarton Legion. In later years she enjoyed singing at Karaoke and attending dances with Bruce when she was healthy enough to do. Sandra was a caring lady who was quirky to some but had a great sense of humor. She loved animals, and her cats were like family to her. She was also very compassionate to those who were disadvantaged or disabled in any way. She will be both fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the H. W. Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow. A graveside memorial service will be presided over by Rev. Charles MacPherson at the Abercombie Cemetery on Tuesday, April 9th at 12pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at the Stellarton Legion beginning at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
Donations may be made to the IWK Foundation (iwkfoundation.org), The Canadian Cancer Society ((cancer.ca) or charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at https://angusfuneralhomes.com .
