Clara Emma Gordon (Skidmore) November 12, 1935 – February 15, 2024 Clara Gordon passed peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by family, on February 15, 2024 at the age of 88. Clara was born November 12, 1935 and was raised in Stellarton, NS and a longtime resident of New Glasgow NS. In Clara’s younger years she enjoyed travelling, she was known as the Happy Traveler, going on bus tours to Nashville and other parts of the USA, loved making and selling crafts at the local flea market and heading out West to visit with family. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Stellarton, NS and Clara was known for her dancing and clogging, not a lot of people could keep up with her. Her nights out at the Casino with friends and going to Powell's Point Park. Clara will be loving remembered by her children Don Gordon, Marion Gordon, Kevin Gordon, Elaine Gordon, Darlene Gordon, Heather Lee Gordon and Susan Gordon. Her grandchildren; Jennifer Gordon, Corey Gordon, Stephanie Gordon, Jillian Gordon, Cyndi Gordon, Kristy Gordon and Danielle Gordon. Great grandchildren; Jada Gordon-Smith, Kayley Gordon, Chayla Gordon, Marcus Gordon-Smith, Avah Gordon-Smith, Braeden Gordon-McGaffey, Chase Gordon and Keirnan Jesty and Her sister Marion Bernath as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her son’s Paul Gordon and David Gordon, her parents; Marion and Elverton Skidmore, sister Vera Allyson, brother’s Arnold Skidmore, Henry Skidmore, Robert Skidmore and Erle Skidmore. Clara will be dearly missed. At Clara’s wishes no funeral service will be held. Cremation will take place and graveside service in the spring will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
