Obituary of Perry Sidney Maxwell Kaiser
Please share a memory of Perry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With shattered hearts we announce the passing of Perry Sidney Maxwell Kaiser who left peacefully with family by his side on February 16, 2024.
Perry was born in Antigonish on January 8, 1968, grew up in beautiful Port Bickerton and graduated from St. Mary’s Rural High in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia.
With passion in his heart reserved for his family and career, Perry began working at the young age of 15 at Historic Sherbrooke Village as a Sawyer, and at Giffin’s Funeral Home every weekend. This eventually turned into a 25+ year career with EHS as a Paramedic, with over a decade as a Senior Operations Paramedic. He was truly one of the absolute best. So many great friendships were born from this experience including his long time working partner Keith Veinotte. His passion for helping others did not end there as he joined the medical insurance companies Hooper Holmes, Dynacare and Exam One for 20+ years where he went into people’s homes to do medicals. Perry was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Little Harbour and the St. Mary’s District Lion’s Club.
Helping people brought PK (as he was known by his coworkers as) so much joy. Those he helped will tell you he brought them joy as well. He was so proud of his work accomplishments but his greatest accomplishment was when his daughter Sydni was born. His ultimate pride being when he walked her down the aisle on her wedding day.
Perry enjoyed camping trips with his loving wife Myrna, traveling, wheeler trips, boating, singing and dancing and truly enjoying every moment of his life. He and Myrna extended their hearts and home to two kittens, Scotia and Brae, who they adopted together. An honourable mention goes to his Lulu Lemon underwear which he was particularly fond of. There was never a dull moment in PK’s life and this is how he will be remembered.
Perry is predeceased by his father Howard and is survived by his loving wife Myrna; his daughter and pride and joy Sydni (Layne), his mother Mary-Lou, his brother/best friend Peter (Claire), sister Patty Lou (Andy), mother in law Frances, brother in law Barry (Melinda), all of his nieces and nephews, EHS family, Camping family, and many special friends and loved ones.
Thank you to all of the staff at the Chemo Department, including Dr. Craig, Dr. Smith and Dr. Farrell; to the Palliative Care Unit including Dr. Kwasnik and Dr. Horton; to the Emergency Department including Dr. Straub; VON, EHS and the incredible nurses in these units within the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow. As well, thank you to Dr. Snow and Dr. French at the VG in Halifax. Your care and compassion will forever be appreciated.
