Obituary of Nancy Jean Caddell
Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Jean Caddell, age 65 of Hopewell, passed away on February 6, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born February 16, 1958 in St. John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Douglas Alfred and Helen Eileen (Wilson) Mollins.
Nancy was a longtime resident of Hopewell where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was very involved in in the church helping out in various capacities, and working on different committees.
Nancy worked for Fraser and Hoyt in New Glasgow and later went to work for the Bank of Nova Scotia in Stellarton, where she worked for many years.
In her younger years, she loved to figure skate and was heavily involved in the community and playing other sports. Nancy loved to read and swap books with her friend Debbie. She loved animals and all the wildlife surrounding her, stayed in contact with all of her family members and friends, especially her favorite cousin Barb. She loved to chat with everybody and always put others first before herself. Even if she hadn't talked to you in years, you would still wind up with a Christmas Card in the mail every year because she never forgot anyone. Her greatest joy was watching her son play hockey, baseball, other sports and all the travelling they did going to games across Atlantic Canada and all the way into Ontario. Even when he moved to Toronto, they were always talking to each other and stayed close. Whenever she left the house, she always wanted to look her best and her love of jewelry was on full display wherever she went.
She is survived by her husband Roger Caddell, Hopewell; son Scott (Brianne Burrows), Toronto; brothers David (Sharon) Mollins and their son David, Millstream; Shane Mollins, Millstream and his children Kimberly, Candace and Sean Michael and her mother-in-law Edith Caddell, Hopewell.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Saturday, February 10 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 11, in First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the MS Society.
