Obituary of Edward Michael Miner

Edward Michael Miner October 13, 1961- February 6, 2024 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edward Michael Miner of Saltsprings, Pictou County who passed away February 6, 2024 at the age of 62 at the Halifax Infirmary with Roxanne, his wife of 37 years and his son Scott at his side. Edward was born in Ontario then moved to Nova Scotia in his teen years. Ed worked as Maintenance Supervisor for Crombie Reit based out of the Highland Square Mall for 25 years. Ed was an avid hunter and would spend the whole deer season out in the woods with the peace and quiet as his companions. It was his happy place. New to Ed in 2023, he discovered the joy of sea bass fishing. This too brought great joy to him. And as everyone who knew him would attest, he was one of the best Medicinal Gardeners we knew and his plants flourished. Ed’s fur babies Shelby and Peaches gave him comfort and huggies whenever it was required and even when not. All his friends also knew Tia, Sandy, Dixie and Tillie, his heavenly fur buddies. Edward has 2 sons; Scott Miner (Elizabeth), Stellarton; Mikeal Como (Andrea), Ontario. He was also lovingly known as Grumpy to grandchildren Seamus, Maggie and Dawn. Brothers: Danny (Melissa), Truro; Gordie (Lorraine). Sisters: Donna MacIntyre (Paul), New Glasgow; Jo-Anne DeCoste (Everett), Thorburn; Debbie Hensbee(Sheldon), Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Elsie (Jones) Miner. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 6pm to 8pm Monday February 12, 2024 at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2pm Tuesday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Macdonald Ibeh presiding. angusfuneralhomes.com
