Dear Fred and family. My deepest sympathy to each of you. Brenda was such a kind person. She always put others ahead of herself. She was beyond kind to my sister Jo-Anne when she was sick, a good friend that was with her until the end. I hope they are sharing stories and having a laugh together. We now have another special angel watching over us. Rest in peace beautiful!

I believe it was the first time I ever stayed over night at someone else’s place as a child at Brenda’s. And I’m not sure if I made it through the night or not! Brenda was always full of life and full of fun. She always had the darkest tan in the Summer time, living at “the Lake”. She had a beautiful picture in her bedroom of a large dog laying down and a pretty blonde little girl curled up in its fur. She had a little girl’s room. That’s my first memory of my dear cousin Brenda.
I also remember her visiting me in the hospital when I was in for major depression. She was a welcoming familiar face during a scary time of my life. It comforted me during my time of need. I’ll never forget Brenda for that.
Any time I met her she was always in good cheer. Even when my sister and I visited her when she wasn’t well she would crack a joke. And Fred was always there looking after her. He was so gentile and kind to her right to the end.
I’m so pleased to have had her in my life. She’ll be greatly missed and I look forward to seeing her again in heaven some day soon.

So much goodness in such a tiny package. I will miss bringing the boys out to Brenda and Fred’s on our summer visits. We would talk school and even though she was long since retired, you could tell she was still a teacher at heart. Sending our thoughts to Fred and the Wood, Rhyno and Yerxa families from Ottawa. We were all lucky to have had Brenda in our lives.

My dear cousin Brenda and I shared many great times when we were little. I remember visiting her house as she would visit at mine. We would swim in the lake and swing on the swings. I loved visiting her house because aunt Barbara, her mum, made the best cookies and squares. You are back with her now. There is a great reunion in Heaven.

Condolences to Brenda's family and especially to Fred and the Rhyno family who were always there for her. Brenda was like Mother Theresa who put everyone else's needs first, always before her own. A kind person, great friend and old time neighbour. If only there were more people like Brenda in the world.

So sorry to hear such sad news. I remember Brenda when we taught at Dr. W. A. MacLeod Elementary School. What stood out about her was her warm personality. She had a unique voice, perfect for reading aloud to her students, that you recognized as her sound before you saw her. It was great to see her after she retired when we usually bumped into each other at the grocery store. She is an excellent example of 'good things come in small packages.' Brenda will be remembered fondly. My condolences to all her family.

Dear Cousin Brenda, so many happy memories of when we were young, playing together at Aunt Barbara’s or at my house. Swimming in the Eden Lake or swinging on the swings. Good times that will never be forgotten. Dear Fred, who loved you forever and cared for you when you needed it.
