Margaret Anne (MacDonald) Martin

July 24, 1941-November 7, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister, mother and friend, Margaret “Margie” Anne (MacDonald) Martin.

Mom/Margie spent her final days in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital with her sister Marita, son Joe, son-in-law Kenny, daughter Judy and her wonderful friend Carol Pettipas at her side.

Margie/ Mom was born in New Glasgow to Sinclair and Bessie MacDonald on July 24, 1941.

She is survived by her children; Judy Martin(Jim), Trenton; Joe Martin(Kenny), Antigonish; and Jimmy Martin(Julie), Trenton; her grandchildren: Cassie Martin(Cara), Moncton; Tyler Martin(Devan), Fort MacMurray; Keegan Martin(Emily), Thorburn; Jerrika Martin, Trenton; Jemma Flannery(Glenn), Quebec; Josh Sutton, Calgary; her great-grandchildren: Kieran and Kailyn Flannery, Quebec; a brother Bill MacDonald, New Glasgow and a sister Marita MacDonald, New Glasgow; all her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral services by request. There will be a private family burial at the Springville Cemetery at a later date.

We would like to say thank you to all the staff at the Palliative Care Unit and the Emergency Department for everything they did to make mother as comfortable as possible in the final days.
