Richard Taylor: Stellarton/New Glasgow
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Taylor 73, of Little Harbour Rd, New Glasgow, formerly of Stellarton who passed away peacefully in Aberdeen Hospital after a brief battle with Cancer on October 31, 2023.
Born in Stellarton, he was the son of the late Earnest (Tinker) Taylor and Marie (Cummings) Taylor.
Richard was a former employee of Trenton Works and The Mattress Factory. He was a proud member of the Legion and AA for many years. Richards one big wish in life was to leave this world a sober man. After many years of struggling, he proudly left this world with over 2 years Sobriety. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His biggest love was for his family. He enjoyed on his down time to draw or paint, and nothing gave him greater pleasure than to tell a good joke.
He will be sadly missed by his son Mike Taylor, British Columbia; daughters: Christina (Jim) Avery, Alberta; Donna (Mike) MacDonald, Trenton; grandchildren: Sara, Michael, Brianna, Brad, Kaylee, Sheila and 11 great grandchildren.
Richard will also be greatly missed by his sisters Audrey (Colin) Chisholm -Stellarton, Cecelia (Steve) Chaisson -Stellarton and Susan Copan (Bill MacLeod) - Stellarton and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Brown
Many thanks to the nurses and staff of the 4th floor Aberdeen Hospital.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation, a private family burial will take place.
