John Martin Ryan (66) of White Hill passed away on October 30th, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with renal failure. He was born August 7, 1957 to Marguerite (Pineau) and the late John Ryan. He was husband to Kathryn (Gadd), father to Gordon, Jared, Jill (Kristin), Tyler (Sue), Jake (Katie) and Grandad to Maeve, Oren, Gabriel and Micah. He leaves with fond memories of brothers and sisters; Rita (Amby) Heighton, Jim (Shawn), Larry (Karen), Gerard (Giselle), Edwin (Cathy), Brenda (Stephanie), Adele (Rick) Kinley, in-laws, neighbours, and constant companions Phyllis and Bruce Holton, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, adventure buddies, teammates and cherished friends. Martin was predeceased by sons Gordon and Jared, father John, niece Allyson Kinley, brother-in-law Amby Heighton and mother and father-in-law Hazel and Mel Gadd. Sincere gratitude and appreciation for the dialysis nurses at the Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, who cared for him with kindness, friendship and a sense of humour. Heartfelt thank you to brother Gerard for the gift of a kidney and time to make new memories with those who love him. In Martin's memory, please register and talk to your family about organ and tissue donation. Visitation will take place at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8. Committal to take place at a later date.
