Obituary of Harry William Mountain

Please share a memory of Harry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mountain, Harry William- passed away October 9, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Harry Mountain was the son of the late Elizabeth Munro and Kenneth Mountain, from whom he inherited strong doses of integrity and practical knowledge. He grew up around New Glasgow but escaped to Halifax in 1968 to attend the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design where he completed a BFA in contemporary sculpture and also travelled extensively through Africa as part of a special 'world encounters' project with the school. At NSCAD he also met his future partner Rosemary Smith and for the next 48 years they were relentless explorers, across Canada and Europe, as Harry pursued a passion for uncovering the true picture of his ancestors the ancient Celts while making money doing jobs from gravel crushing to real estate to teaching. His dying wish was to ensure that his Celtic research becomes better known. As we formalize projects to promote that research and celebrate his life's work and creative output, we will post them on his sites at Celtsite.com and Sculptcity.com so that interested people can participate and support. He was predeceased by his sister Audrey Lillian MacDonald. He is deeply mourned by his wife Rosemary Mountain and friends around the world. Cremation has taken place.
