Obituary of Doris Muriel Price

Price, Doris Muriel (Dale)- December 3, 1924-October 4, 2023 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Doris Muriel Price (Dale) on October 4, 2023 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Linda and George “Bugs” MacLeod in Westville. Born in Chignecto, Cumberland County she was a daughter of the late James and Lettisah(Seaman)Dale. Doris lived most of her life in Stellarton except for the past 3 years with her daughter Linda and son-in-law George “Bugs” MacLeod. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She loved to play bingo with her son Joey with lots of laughs, she loved to play 45’s with her 7 best friends. Doris was a stay at home mom taking care of her kids and anyone that would need her help. In her early years, mom also made fish and chips, selling them from her home, which kept her busy. If anybody dropped in, she could make something out of nothing. It seemed nobody left hungry. She is survived by sons; Harlin (Sharelle), Comox, BC; Stephen ( Patsy) Coldbrook, Annapolis Valley; daughters; Linda (George)MacLeod, Westville; Sharelle, Westville, daughter -in-law Viola Price, Stellarton; 6 grandchildren; Vincent, Tanya, Lori Ann, Tiffany, Ebbiny and Travis, whom she was very proud of, and 7 great grandkids; Krista, Ashley, Neah, Brent, Simon, Jessica and Finley. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joe and a son Joey, sisters Geralding Lewis, Lois MacKenzie, Isabelle Fisher, Eliza Priest, Jean Hale and Audrey Polson, brothers; twin Horace, Jerry Andrew, Douglas and Elroy. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 1to 3pm Friday October 13, 2023 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton from where a memorial service will be held at 3pm With Rev. Aidan Kingsbury presiding. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Family burial to take place in the Christ Anglican Cemetery, Stellarton. Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Nova Scotia SPCA, the VON, Canadian Red Cross, Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton or to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Rivera for coming to see mom, also to the VON care givers, mom sure enjoyed them and other times not so much (Lol). We would also like to thank the Palliative Care nurse and the VON nurses for looking after mom in her hours of need. You don’t know how much this meant to us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
