Trefry, Ruth Lorna age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in New Glasgow, NS and was the daughter of Avard and Ruby Luddington, both of Stellarton. It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the loss of a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin. Ruth is survived by her husband Ernest Trefry, daughter Brandy (Edmonton), son Ave (Halifax), daughter Elizabeth (New Glasgow); and son Matthew (Westville); her sisters Lois (Murray) Lavender, Waterside; Shirley (Blaine) Yerxa, Eden Lake; Brenda (Brad) Murray, Kings Head; grandchildren Aeriel and Joshua; and extended family members. Ruth’s love of her children was the most important part of her life. She would often talk to them; usually daily, checking in on how their day was going and sharing any news or gossip she had. This same love and conversation carried over to her sisters everyday, especially her sister Brenda, her rock. She was predeceased by her parents Avard and Ruby Luddington and recently deceased sister, Angela Luddington. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and other health care workers at the I.C.U. and Palliative Care Units of the Aberdeen Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Ruth. Cremation has taken place. Burial arrangements are under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. The family will have a private burial at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 19th, officiated by Deacon Joanne Neal. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
