Lindsay David Sharpe Obituary

We the loving family of Lindsay David Sharpe of Springville are saddened to announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Born in New Glasgow on November 26, 1944, he was a son of the late Erskine and Evelyn (Palmer) Sharpe of Bridgeville.

Lindsay was a prideful, hardworking man who was very proud to have his own trucking business in B.C. from 1979-1991. When Lindsay and his family returned home to Nova Scotia he continued to work in the trucking and logging industry.

Dad was a whitty man who had a comeback for any comment at the drop of a dime. His sense of humour and laugh will be dearly missed. Dad adored his family and would love to chat over cookies and coffee. Dad could be found helping anyone in need, particularly mowing his children’s lawns without one blade of grass longer than the other. When Dad lost his mobility, he continued to help in anyway he could whether it be cutting up vegetables and making sandwiches for any community events. Dad is best described as being the type of man who’s the “Salt of The Earth”.

Lindsay is survived by the love of his life of 46 years, Sadie; sons Kevin Maclean (Vanessa), Thorburn; Keith Maclean (Tammy), Thorburn; Shawn (Jenn), Westville; and daughter Lynn (John), Stellarton; grandchildren Shelbie, Brandon, Savanna, Cameron, Taylor and Skye; first and only great-grandson Rory; sisters Sharon (Alex) MacDonald, Sunny Brae; Wally Sharpe (Patty), Prince George, B.C.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Lindsay was predeceased by brothers Kevin, Bernie, and sister Wendy.

We the family would like to thank VON for all the wonderful care dad has received over the years. He called you all his “Special Angels”. A special thank-you to Crystal Belong, Dr, Barclay, Nursing staff of 4th floor Aberdeen Hospital, East River Valley Fire Department and to all who have sat, visited, called and checked on Dad throughout his illness.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday July 30, 2023 from 2- 6 pm in the Springville Hall, 2770 East River East Side Road, Springville. Burial will take place at a later date in the Springville Cemetery.
