To Pauline and Family:
I am saddened to just hear of Mr. Henaut's passing last summer. He was my high school English teacher from 1971 to 1973 at Westville High School. His incredible passion to this discipline reflected the love for English. Every student appreciated the seriousness for his passion and love as an Educator As a retired Teacher myself, I have never forgotten what he taught me as a student. I am amazed to learn his significant contributions to the craft. This explains why the education system in Pictou County is highly respected in this province. He has left many gifts to others through his service. Mr. Henaut has earned his way to heaven. May the Lord bless him as he journeys home.
Respectfully,
Eileen F. (Simpson) Egyedy

Mr Henaut was my English teacher at Westville High and both he and Pauline had a huge impact on my life. They both lived their lives as strong Christian’s who had compassion and empathy for their students. Many times in my three years at WHS they both shared their Christian love with me when I so needed the support of a caring adult. Looking back through my life, I can honestly say that they made a difference and helped me to become the person that I am today Their faith in God was more than a Sunday experience, and it gave me courage as a young teenager to live my faith as passionately as they did. I still quote the Bible verse they taught us in choral group. I am so deeply sorry for your loss Pauline, and you are in my thoughts and prayers until the day we are all reunited with her with our Lord and Savior.

I have been the beneficiary of George’s kindness, his encouragement, and his compassionate heart! George was a highly talented artist, a gifted public speaker, a marvelous leader, and a captivating writer! George’s giftedness, coupled with his Christocentric, caring, gracious concern for others will, without a doubt, forever grace the corridors of heaven!

Dear Pauline and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Hoping you take comfort in knowing that George, a beacon of faith and kindness, has ascended to his heavenly home. His creative soul made an impact on all he met – his humor warmed hearts and his direction in the Good Friday dramas and church where we met him was a testament to God’s work through him. The joyous memories he etched with every photograph will surely be treasures held dear. May God's peace embrace you during this time of sorrow.

Very sorry to hear...Mr Henaut was legendary at Westville High School in the 80s...a very impactful teacher that created so many memories of my school days, teaching literature and drama, and the best symposium ever...still have memories of how fun those days were.
I admired how Mr and Mrs Henaut seemed inseparable, from then til now.. seeing them years later walking hand and hand. Warmed my heart and made me smile. My condolences to family and friends.

Pauline & Family: So very sorry for your loss. I worked with George at PDSB Central Office for a number of years and always found him to be a kind, caring and helpful gentleman. At times he would even allow me to proof-read his work (which I considered to be a compliment). He, and his talents, will be sorely missed.

Mr. Henaut was my high school English Teacher. He carried this presence that gained immediate respect. I learned so much in class (and on stage). We listened to poems, memorized many and learned about the authors, we memorized and acted in Shakespeare plays, (in costume) and attended symposiums. We performed soliloquies. Thank you for being such a great inspiring person! Condolences to Pauline and family.

I always remembered the Charge of the Light Brigade that George drilled into me and one day at Walmart I got to recite a verse for him. We had a good laugh. He was a very serious teacher and I learned a lot from him. This was at Stellarton Schools where we met.

Mr. Henaut was my high school English teacher. He was enthusiastic about English, he set high expectations, he forced students to push themselves and he always was using different approaches to try to ensure every student could identify some aspect of his curriculum they could call their own. His enthusiasm for his subject and his students helped me decide to become an educator. His innovative approach helped to fuel my desire to be innovative. I often think of his lists of quotes he made us memorize that I still reference regularly, his field trips to dance the Minuet at English conferences allowing better understanding of drama, his high expectations and how they showed he cared.
I just want to say one last time Thank you Mr. Henaut.

Mr. Henaut was my English teacher from grade nine through twelve. The children today will never know the value of the English language. He drilled poems, poets and correct grammar into our lives. Correct spelling was a must.
