Obituary of Hector Alexander Priest

New Glasgow: Hector Alexander Priest age 76 of New Glasgow passed away on Wednesday July 5th, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Edison and Ella (MacDonald) Priest. Hector was a lifelong resident of New Glasgow. He was a retired employee of the Nova Scotia Dept of Transportation. Surviving are his children Sherry Priest -Weatherby (Tony), Shelly Priest ( Tyler Meade), Sheila Priest (Dan Moore) and Michelle Rector (Phil), grandchildren Kyle Rector and Samantha Rector , Matthew and Anthony Weatherby, great grandchildren Jude ,Jacob ,Ella ,Sam and Millie .Sisters Charlotte MacKeeman, Jane Farrell (Jerry MacPherson), Vera Patterson (Steve), brothers Raymond Priest (Pearl), Russell Priest (Wanda). Sister-in law Mary Priest also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Nancy (MacLennan), brothers Gordon Priest and Alvin Priest, a grandson Terry Priest and brother -in -laws Ralph MacKeeman, Doug Farrell. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and6-8 P.M. on Sunday July 9th in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home . A memorial service will be held on Monday July 10th at 11 A.M. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery. Donations in memory of Hector may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetic Association. The family would like to thank the nurses of 4 south and Palliative Care of the Aberdeen Hospital for the care and compassion shown to their dad.
