Obituary of Mary "Mye" Janet Francis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Janet (Mye) Francis, 73, of Pictou Landing First Nations on Friday, May 26th, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by her loving family. Born In New Glasgow at the Aberdeen Hospital on December 15th, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (Martin) Toney. She was a resident of Pictou Landing First Nations all of her life and was the member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church. Our mom loved her family deeply. She also loved playing bingo and cards. She loved going for drives and spending her summers at Malegomish. She also enjoyed spending time in Cheticamp and called it her second home. She is survived by her sons Robert (Cathy) Francis, Pictou Landing, Derek (Pamela) Francis, Pictou Landing, Son in law Isiah Izzard and daughter Heather (Joey) Mills, Pictou Landing. Grandchildren: Adrienne, James, Derekjij, Taylor, Makayla and Adriana, Great-grandchildren: Paisley and Everleigh. Chosen children, Donna, Marsha and Kolton of Pictou Landing. Sister Barbara (John) Prosper of Pictou Landing. Brother in law, Ralph (Lorraine) Francis, Pictou Landing. Several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Robert (Bobby) Francis, daughter Maryann Francis, Sisters Virginia, Susie, Loretta, Margaret (Chickie), Alice Mae and brother Joseph (June) Toney Jr. Her remains will rest at home at 6537 Pictou Landing Road starting at 3pm on Tuesday, May 30th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 1st at 2pm in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church with Father Tom MacNeil presiding.
