Dear Sharon, Troy, Brad, Gina, Tammy, Michelle & Family: Sincere condolences...Bob was such a great guy - always enjoyed spending time with him and enjoyed his stories. Bob always made us feel welcome when we would come for a visit. Ron and I fondly remember the trip we took with Bob and Sharon to the U.S. on Thanksgiving weekend in the Fall of 2019 - wonderful memories. He will be truly missed. Thinking of you all.....love Ron & Gail

Bob and his brand new truck (March 7,2008)
Bob joined our business and personal family on June 25, 1979. He was at my office every Friday with his paperwork. I heard all about his customers, their families and all the news from here to Yarmouth and back. One lady left lobster sandwiches for him in her mailbox. He was always happy and his customers were all his friends. Our dog (Jesse Jane) will miss the cookies he always brought her on Friday, she loved Bob, we all did.
Rest in peace Bob, we will miss you always.
❤️ Marg Holmes and all her family.

Q: What will you never forget about Robert?
A: I never really had a chance to get to know Bob well because I moved to BC shortly after Bob and Sharon got together but I do know that first and foremost Bob was a "dad". He loved his family. The few times that I visited my sister Sharon and Bob I can say they were both very gracious hosts. I saw Bob as a mostly quiet man but I did so appreciate his passion for history. He had such a wealth of knowledge about local history. It was so interesting to listen to him talk about the local historical attractions that Sharon and my niece Tammy had taken me to. Bless you Bob. Dave and I will both miss you.

It's hard to find the words to express the sadness we feel on the loss of our dear friend & campground neighbour. Many days were spent at Seal Cove 'Seniors Corner' solving world problems, figuring out how to get one over on each other, and of course, the ongoing debate about the better truck (Ford vs Dodge). We laughed & tormented each other, but you could always count on Bob to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. Bob quite often was the only man during morning coffee discussions. He made sure to stick up for his male counterparts when us girls got too carried away. Like the rest of us, Bob loved a good bite to eat, except onions .. those damn onions, he'd say, should be a law against them. Bob always had dog treats in his pocket & the dogs knew it! Awhile ago, we had a parcel arrive from Glen Forest Drive and in it was a lovely bandana for our dog. It had bees on one side & lemons on the other. I thought it was so kind until I figured out the lemons were a poke at my Dodge truck (Sharon, I know that parcel wasn't your idea). We will miss you Bob. Your name will be mentioned often and it will take quite awhile before we will be able to say it without a tear in our eye. Rest easy, I sure hope you are surrounded by Ford trucks & beautiful dogs in heaven. We will take good care of Sharon & Jesse.

To Bob's family, I was very saddened to hear if Bob's passing. I am the accountant at Eastern Tire and I always enjoyed talking to Bob when he checked in at the office. I enjoyed teasing him about always buying Fords. His usual response was "have you been told yet today". My deepest sympathy.

I fondly remember in 1972 Bob showing up with a mini bike he had. We were visiting my grandmother in Wentworth for two weeks and he gave me the bike (unsolicited) for the entire time. I put many miles on it over that time. Eventually my parents bought it from him because I basically wouldn't get off it. Always kind to me for the time I knew him. My condolences to Bob's family.

After nearly 34 years of living next door to each other, you are no longer neighbors - you are family. Glen Forest Drive will not be the same without Bob or as he was sometimes known - Minister of Da Fence. So many memories of times spent together....our hearts are broken and so many tears have been shed. Your chair on our deck may be empty but there will not be a day go by when we sit out and not think of you and look over expecting to see you waving back. To Sharon, Troy, Bradley and Gina - we will never forget him and send our condolences, our support and our prayers but most of all our love. Lyman, Lori, Deanna and Jacob xox

Sincere condolences to Sharon, Loren and Emily. We have lots of loving thoughts of all of you including Bob of course. Our greatest memory is how kind both Bob and Sharon were to our daughter, Allyson Lord and Mike and Garrett as they lived next door. We always new that you or the other neighbors would help them out as we were at least 5 hrs away. A great memory is of Bob taking Garrett for a tractor ride and Garrett would wait for him to come home. Also Loren and Emily, (2 little girls that visited your Grampie, but were so kind and sweet to Garrett, sincerely sorry for your awesome loss.
Glad to have know Bob. God bless

The camping community has certainly lost a wonderful friend. Bob was always so full of knowledge, insite, and never shy to tell a joke. He loved to laugh and pick fun, especially to those Dodge drivers. We have only known Bob for a short time, but he always made us feel welcome. His big heart and his acts of kindness never went unnoticed. It was a great honor to sit around the evening campfires with you Bob. Fly high!

I miss those times just meeting on Bob & Sharon’s doorstep having some laughs. I will miss his great sense of humour and his kindness. Rest in peace Bob!
