Obituary of Linda Lou MacQuarrie

Linda Lou MacQuarrie, age 70, of New Glasgow passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023 at the Aberdeen hospital surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (DeCoste) Darroch. Linda grew up in Westville and later moved to New Glasgow. In her younger years she was employed at the fish plant in Lismore but she loved her last job most of all being a crosswalk guard for many years, she loved the interaction with the children and often times would even walk them home. Linda loved all animals, playing bingo and doing puzzles. She is survived by her daughters Stacy (Billy) Johnstone, Churchville; Amanda MacQuarrie, New Glasgow; grandchildren Kristopher, Sarah, Ethan and Evan; brother Gary Darroch, New Glasgow; sisters Nancy (Bert) Hayden, Salem; and Brenda (Donny) Vance, New Glasgow. As well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers John, Dennis and Fraser and a sister Madeline. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King Street, New Glasgow. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
