IN LOVING MEMORY MacGillivray, Joseph William, 67 of Stellarton passed away February 4, 2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late John Daniel and Mary (Maclellan) MacGillivray. Joseph lived the greater part of his life in Stellarton. He worked at the former Hawker Siddeley Rail Car plant in Trenton for more then 30 years, also he was a well known taxi driver for Jim’s Taxi for many years. He was a member of St John’s Roman Catholic Church in New Glasgow. He was a kind and gentle man who had many friends. He is survived by his wife Eileen, Stellarton; sons; Joseph MacGillivray and John MacGillivray both of Stellarton; stepson James MacLean(Gina), Stellarton; grandchildren; Joseph, Jesse, John, Jack, Raya, Rilie, Samantha, Jamie, Justin; brothers; Roland(Barb), Valley, NS; Frank(Andrea), Stellarton; sisters; Marie(Roger)Sharpe, Lynn, Mass; Judy(Jimmy)Allard, St. Albert, Alberta; Rose MacGillivray, New Glasgow; Anne Louise(Stan)Lukye, Beamont, Alberta; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Angus, John (Buddy) and Henry, a sister Christena. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4pm Wednesday February 15, 2023 at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Burial of ashes will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow at a later date.
