BASIL JOSEPH TIBBO November 4, 1930 – January 29, 2023 Basil Joseph Tibbo, 92, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia slipped away peacefully in the Palliative Care of the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia to the late Neil and Mary Tibbo. Basil attended school in Port Felix, and lived in many areas of Nova Scotia. Basil worked at the Lismore Lobster Factory, where he met the love of his life Annie MacAulay. Basil was later employed at Standard Clay, Gordon MacCara Construction, a lobster fisherman and lastly with the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board as a Custodian and Bus Driver, from where he retired in early 1990 to provide care for his loving wife Annie until her passing. Basil lived a carefree life with a sense of humour and personality as big as the ocean, these are wonderful traits he passed on to his family. Dad lived his life to the fullest. He was a wonderful, loving, proud Father, Grandfather, and sibling to all his family. Basil would do anything for his family and many friends throughout the years. He was always first to lend a helping hand to all, especially those in need. He is thankful for his longtime companion Jean Rhyno. They enjoyed many good times together. A special thank you to Barbara Smith and Dana Lee who were always there for Dad whenever he needed a helping hand or just to shoot the breeze. Dad thoroughly enjoyed the Stellarton Legion dances, playing crib with his good friend Lawrence Hafey. A special mention of his longtime friends, Bill & Diane Williams, Foster Elms, Preston Bonvie, Doreen Jordan & Wayne Gerrior, Ron Olding and many other wonderful friends. Basil is survived by his Daughter - Sharon (Bob) Staysko of Calgary Alberta, Son - Basil (Susan) Tibbo of Lourdes, Pictou County and Daughter In-law - Judy. Sisters - Genesta & Edith, Brother - Dougie. Grandchildren - (Gramp was so proud of each of them) Anthony Tibbo, Timothy (Wilma) Tibbo, Lisa Tibbo, Christopher Tibbo, Tiffany (Derek) Fraser, Ashley Tibbo, Ryan (Alana) Staysko, Michael (Colette) Staysko, Rob Staysko, along with 11 Great Grandchildren and extended relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Basil was predeceased by his wife Annie, Son - Bobby, Sisters - Eileen, Garnet, Brothers - Neil and Gordon. Basil will be deeply missed by all that knew him. There will be no services, donations, or flowers by Dad’s request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home. Dad ~ As God calls each of us home, that broken chain will be linked again
