Obituary of Carrie Lavinia Higgins

Stellarton: Carrie Lavinia Higgins age 95 of Stellarton passed away on Tuesday November 29th,2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton she was a daughter of the late George B. and Caroline (Mailman) Fraser. Carrie was a resident of Stellarton all of her life. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church where she was a former president of the ACW, a member of the choir and Sunday school teacher. Carrie worked for the Acadia Coal Co. and later went on to work at Sears from where she retired. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by her children Dexter (Yvonne) of Montague, their children Jason and Bryan, Bill (Ellen) of Hopewell, their children Nathan and Joel, Patricia (Darwin) Satherstrom, Orleans, Ont; their children, Meaghan, Gillian, Hannah and Devon, Donald (Darlene) of Chance Harbour, their children Mitchell and Kaitlyn. 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), a great grandson, brother and sister-in-law Dr. Henry and Jean Fraser, brother Tom Frazer, a sister and brother in-law Betty and Denzil Firth, a very special friend Earl Martin. Visitation will be held on December 11,2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, 18 Acadia Avenue, Stellarton. Funeral services will be held from Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton on December 12, 2022 at 2 pm with Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Church Cemetery.
