Obituary of Ann Mary Whitewood

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Ann (Richard) Whitewood on November 18, 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Ann was born on September 20, 1950 in Pictou to Ernest and Simone Richard. She is survived by loyal and devoted husband Harold of 54 years, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Tim Kelly, Chapel Hill, NC; son Victor, Summerside PEI; her two cherished grandchildren Nicholas Kelly, Charleston, SC and Olivia Kelly, Chapel Hill, NC; her sister Marion Scanlan, Pictou; brothers Gary Richard, Pictou and Wayne Richard, Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Simone Richard. Ann and her family lived many different places while her husband served in the military for 22 years. She was an avid crafter all her life, from teaching ceramics for many years, knitting and scrapbooking. She enjoyed reading, travelling with her husband, and going to North Carolina to visit Lisa, Tim, Nicholas and Olivia. The family would like to acknowledge the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Floor who were an amazing support for her and the family and sincere thanks to all of her friends. As per her request cremation has taken place and at a later date her ashes will be taken to St. Joseph’s Parish in Charlos Cove, Guysborough County, NS.
