Obituary of Agnes MacDonald

New Glasgow : Laura “Agnes” MacDonald age 95 formerly of Stellarton and Hopewell passed away on October 25th ,2022 at Glen Haven Manor ,New Glasgow. Born in Antigonish ,she was a daughter of the late James and Anna Mae (MacKeen) Kirk. Agnes worked in Oshawa and Toronto for several years before moving to Yonkers N.Y. where she worked as a bookkeeper for 24 years before retiring to Hopewell in 1983. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church ,Stellarton where she was a member of the church guild and the A.M.S .Agnes was a member and active with the Rebekah Lodge holding several offices over the years . Surviving are her son Gerald (Cynthia) Kirk of Ridgefield Conn. U.S.A., grandchildren : Heather ,Caroline and Cameron Kirk of Ridgefield Conn. U.S.A , a sister Catherine Mrs Earl Paynter . She was predeceased by her husband Thomas (Chalmers) MacDonald , a daughter in infancy ,brothers Everett and Percy Kirk ,a sister Margaret Whidden. The family will receive visitors from 1 P.M. until time of the funeral service at 2 P.M. in First Presbyterian Church ,Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery ,Sherbrooke . Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to the First Presbyterian Church , Stellarton or to the Kirk Memorial United Church ,Aspen.
