SCOTSBURN- Roberta Marie MacKay, age 63 of Scotsburn passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2022 at the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital. Roberta was surrounded with the love of her family at her time of passing following a courageous battle with Liver Disease. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Lennon and the late Elizabeth Ann Lennon (Ryan). Roberta (Bert) was an avid lover of the sea and a collector of its beautiful and unique treasures. Roberta loved adventuring to new beaches to discover their beauty with friends and family. Roberta created many special memories while on the hunt for beach glass and used the many pieces she found to create beautiful jewelry and other wire wrapped designs that those who are blessed to have, will cherish forever. Known for her beautiful smile and cheerful personality, Roberta worked for decades as the Manager of the A&W on Stellarton Road in New Glasgow until retirement in 2018. Roberta is survived by her son Robert David Lennon (Kelly Campbell), Westville; her daughter Holly Lee-Ann MacKay (Tosin Adebayo), Scotsburn; and her pride and joy; her grandchildren Tekenna Adebayo and Malia MacDonald, sisters; Marilyn (Vernon) Theriault, Carol (Robert) Pentz and brothers, John (Shelley Campbell) Lennon and Tom (Ruth Fraser) Lennon, nieces and nephews Aaron, Jamie, Lindsey, Ginny, Jay, Brandon, Bradley, Brittany, Gordon as well as great nieces, nephews. Family is not always of blood relation and Roberta built a large chosen family of many as well in her lifetime. Roberta was predeceased by her sister Angela Lennon, mother-in-law Colleen MacKay, father-in-law Fulton MacKay as well as her grandparents and several aunts & uncles. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the VON, the Aberdeen Palliative Care Program, Westville Medical Clinic, Pictou Sobeys Pharmacy and the Nova Scotia Health Authority Continuing Care Program for their remarkable care and compassion. Cremation has taken place There will be no visitation services by Roberta’s request.
