Obituary of Marie Fraser

Elizabeth “Marie” Fraser (MacDonald) at the age of 82 gained her angel wings in the early hours of July 23, 2022.
Marie was born, raised and lived on MacKay Street, Stellarton. She was the third child of Charles and Elizabeth (Wadden) MacDonald. Marie began her career at Sobeys head office and eventually retired from Canada Post in Stellarton in 2002.
Marie actively volunteered with Guides and the Stellarton Pipe Band in her early years. She was a member of the Stellarton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 50 years. She was a member of Pictou County Ground Search and Rescue, Pictou County Red Cross, Stellarton Homecoming Committee, the Stellarton Trails Committee and the Stellarton Children’s Halloween party. She was an active member of the 110 wing RCAF, Stellarton.
Marie is survived by her daughters Debbie and Krista (Stellarton), her pride and joy grandchildren Chantel, Devan, Aidan and Caden and brother Ken (Connie) MacDonald and multiple nieces and nephews and brother and sisters- in- law.
Marie was predeceased by her parents Charles and Elizabeth MacDonald, husband Peter Fraser and sister Margaret Jardine.
Special thanks to life long friend and sister of the heart Janice McLaughlin, caregiver Karen Greencorn, numerous family and friends, nurse Mary MacDonald and the other nurses for their love and support during this time.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Saturday September 10, 2022 at Our lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father MacDonald Ibeh presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in the parish cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Stellarton Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Marie’s name to the Stellarton Fire Department or the Stellarton SPCA.
