So sorry, shocked and saddened to hear of Verna's passing. She was so proud of you all. Always willing to talk about her grand children and show pictures. Her opinions were always sought after at the office by both the office staff and the lawyers, Verna knew her job and did it very well and she could always be depended on to share her knowledge. Verna will be missed by all who knew her. She was a lovely person, fun and smart. I am happy I got to work with her for 20plus years. I think it should be noted that a great deal of pleasure and laughter was provided over the years by knowing Verna had two birthdays in each year October and December! All her friends and colleagues at Goodman MacDonald now Patterson Law are heart broken with the loss of Verna. A gentle soul so willing to help everyone and always with a smile . It’s so inconceivable after almost 33 years not to be able to say good morning or to seek her wise counsel on the most difficult land title mysteries. She drew the best out of us every day with her humble yet intuitive questions- letting us think that maybe we actually solved the problem. But we knew better. I am among those shocked and saddened to have learned this morning of Verna's passing. I worked with/around her since day 1 of practice, both in the Registry vault (when we had one!) and in the virtual/POL/transactional environment. I always enjoyed her refreshing practical approach to legal and logistical issues, and in finding solutions rather than "searching for problems," accompanied by professionalism and good cheer. She was always a valued go-to for follow up, as well. She, her skills, and her character will be missed.
