Rita Jane Richards - age 98, of New Glasgow, passed away on May 7, 2022 at home. Born in Tracadie she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Georgina (Delorey) Pettipas.
Rita was a resident of New Glasgow most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and a member of the hospitality group where she helped with lunches for funerals. She was a former employee of McRae’s Restaurant in New Glasgow.
Rita is survived by a granddaughter Tracey Brophy, Halifax, several great grandchildren; sisters Margaret (Joe) Pettipas, Theresa Myette, Veronica (David) Winter, Kaye (Dave) Skanes, Betty Pettipas; brothers Walter (Betty) Pitts, Donald (Kaye) Pettipas, Robert (Ginnie) Pettipas.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, a daughter Diane (Francis) Brophy, grandchildren Tammie and Jason, brothers Leonard, Bernard, Francis, Raymond a sister Mary (Gilbert) Conrad a brother-in -law Charles Myette.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday, May 11th in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm Thursday in Our lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father MacDonald Ibeh presiding. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the VON, Palliative Care Unit, The Continuing Care Program and Debbie, Kelsey and Felicia for their loving Care.
