James Elmer Hennessey – age 70, of Pictou Landing First Nations passed away May 1, 2022 at home. Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Lawrence and Jessie Alva (Burns) Hennessey. James lived most of his life in Northern Ontario and returned to Pictou Landing 4 years ago. He is survived by his children Jane, Pictou Landing; Joy-Lynn, Ontario; Jaimie, Ontario; grandchildren John, Robert, George, Harrison, and Cameron; great-grandchildren Jimmy and Lily; brothers Nelson (Carolyn), Johnny (Judy), Peter (Julie), Howard (Darla), Hughie (Gwen) Robert (Jane); half-sister Rosalee. Predeceased by a son James “Jimmy’ Hennessey; brothers Henry and Charlie. His remains will rest in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Pictou Landing First Nations after 2 pm on Friday, May 6 with funeral mass at 11 am Saturday, May 7, with Father Tom MacNeil presiding. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery in Trenton at a later date. At the request of the family, anyone in attendance for the visitation or the funeral service are asked to please wear a mask. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
