Treby, Dorothy Eleanor
It is with heavy hearts the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on March 14th, 2022. Dorothy was born in Central New Annan April 10th, 1929 to Gordon and Annie (Roblee) Langille. She moved to New Glasgow and worked for Thompson and Sutherlands and later married our father/grandfather Bill Treby. For many years she was a stay at home Mom devoting all of her time to her two girls but then in later life became a Deputy Sheriff and worked along side of her husband. She was very family oriented and for many years the family would spend every weekend in New Annan with her parents . The sense of family always remained very important to her as she was always in contact constantly with her daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and also friends and relatives. She was the definition of “selfless”. She was always there for anyone who needed her. When her youngest daughter became ill she never questioned becoming her care taker. She loved her daily conversations with her friends, visits from anyone and always knowing what was going on with everyone in the family. She always saw the good in people. She will be dearly missed as she was the “ear” that would always listen good bad and never judge. She is survived by daughter Anne (Doane), grandchildren Christopher, Amanda, Ashley and Annie, great grandchildren Brandon, Skylar and Jaxon, son-in-law Danny MacGillvary (Laura), sister Delia Black and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband William (Bill), daughter Lynn MacGillvary, sister Emma Byers. The family would like to thank Dr. Gregor MacLean for all the years of undoubting care, also to Dr. Aulayne Jeans for her compassion over the course of her hospital stay as well as Dr. Kwasnik and the staff of the palliative care unit at the Aberdeen for the care of her last days .Special thanks to the VON and Kathy Fisher whom without she would not have been able to remain in her home until 92 years of age. She will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow with visitation Friday March 18th, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 with funeral service Saturday March 19, 2022 at 2 pm from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to do so may make a donation to the VON or Palliative Care Aberdeen Hospital.wwwangusfuneralhomes.com
