Dear Maxine and family; I am shocked and very saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Alan. I worked with Alan at Macleod And GR and always loved our conversations we had, and the occasional teasing. Alan was one of the good guys and will be greatly missed. RIP Alan,

Colleen and I send sincere sympathies to Maxine and all of Alan's family. Our community has lost a really good man. He may not have always been right ( none of us are), but he sure as heck fought hard for what he believed in whether it was to help him and his family or his many good friends. Alan and my paths crossed often, First when he still ran the dairy farm and I was delivering turnips to the farm because hay was running short. Then it was education, him on the bus and me on the School Board, and we always got along great. In the greenhouse business when he and Maxine ran in Lyon's Brook and my father and I ran in West River, we may have been competitors but it didn't matter, we were still good friends. When it came to standing up for the rural County, Alan would always be there. We'll miss him. RIP, good friend Bob and Colleen Parker

My deepest condolences to Maxine, Jennifer and families. Alan was my bus driver way back when. We always had a fun ride and were never late for school. He always had a smile and a great attitude. He never forgot who I was and always gave that great smile and a hi whenever we met years later.
