Gerald Parker McGrath (Papa) of Stellarton.
December 14, 1947-November 12, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Gerald Parker McGrath. Papa passed away at home surrounded by love on Friday Nov 12/21.
Born in New Glasgow on December 14th 1947, he was a son of the late Reginald and Ruby McGrath.
Jerry worked at Trenton Works as a laborer for many years and had numerous other jobs throughout his lifetime.
Jerry is survived by his partner Sharon Brown, his two daughters LeeAnn Spears(Shawn) and Wendy Lloyd, four grandchildren; Jarrett(Madison), Joanne(Wesley), Jamie(Krista) and Meranda, two great- grandchildren; Mia and Zander.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, brothers; David, Bobby, Bruce and Mike.
A special thank you to Willow Lodge for the care Papa received during his stay. Also, thank you to Dr. Dan MacDonald, VON and Palliative Care for making Papa’s finals days possible to be at home with his family by his side.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation. A public graveside committal service will be held 11am Wednesday at the Christ Anglican Church Cemetery, Stellarton with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson presiding. Masks and proof of vaccination are required to attend service.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Palliative Care Society or VON.
