Edith “June” MacIntosh, born June 16th, 1925 passed away peacefully on October 23, 2021 in the Northumberland Veterans Unit, Pictou.
Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie (MacInnis) MacIntosh
She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. June was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
June was a WWII veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war she lived for over 30 years in British Columbia and then returned to Pictou County. She retired as a bus driver with the Chignecto Central Regional School Board.
June was strong willed with a kind heart. She loved her dog and going to weekly card parties. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service for friends and family will be held in the Thorburn Cemetery on Friday, October 29, 2021 with Rev. Allan Klein officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
