Obituary of Robert Douglas Chisholm

Chisholm, Robert Douglas, 92 of the Glen haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Hopewell, Pictou County passed away October 3, 2021 in the manor. Born in Elgin, Pictou County he was a son of the late John A. and Bessie (MacKenzie) Chisholm. Bob was a resident of Elgin and Hopewell all his life where he was an adherent of the St. Columba United Church. He worked most of his years as a truck driver and school bus driver for the MacLeod School and the West Pictou District High School for 18 years from where he retired. He was a former member of Branch 137 Royal Canadian Legion, Hopewell and Branch 75 Royal Canadian Legion, Elgin. He loved spending time at his camp and listening to fiddle music. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his daughters; Judy(Jack)Marshall, New Glasgow; and Kathy(Todd)MacKinnon, Stellarton; 3 grandchildren; Jimmy and Patty Marshall, Alyssa MacKinnon, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. He was predeceased by his wife the former Marion (Jardine), a sister Elizabeth Ross and a brother William “Bill”. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A public graveside committal service will be held 11am Thursday in the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Pictou County with Rev. Charles MacPherson presiding.
