Obituary of Leslie Wanda Lloyd

Please share a memory of Leslie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leslie Wanda Lloyd, age 62, of Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Leslie was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1959. She spent her youth in Pictou County and her adulthood as a teacher traveling the world, experiencing new cultures and making friends along the way. Her lifelong love of learning garnered her degrees from St Francis Xavier University, Mount St Vincent University and Acadia University. Putting her education to use, Leslie became a favourite teacher in Pictou County, Halifax and the Middle East. When she wasn’t traveling, Leslie could often be found walking, reading books on the beach, and enjoying a cup of earl grey tea while sharing stories of her time in the Middle East. Her car dance parties were a favorite among her daughter and friends. Leslie loved her daughter Meghan the best way she knew how. Her beloved granddaughter Olivia was the true apple of her eye. Leslie and Olivia spent many happy times together having "Nana nights", shopping and sharing precious moments. Olivia will miss her Nana immensely. Leslie is survived by her daughter Meghan (Ryan) Steele and granddaughter Olivia Steele of Halifax. She is also survived by her adored brother and friend Rob Robson, Calgary; brother Wally (Willena) Jardine, New Waterford; sister Ellen (Stephen) Margeson, Springville; sister Maxine (George) Devoe, New Waterford; sister Donna (Colin) Wolfe, Beaverbank; brother David (Elizabeth) Robson, Trenton; brother Mike Robson, Beaverbank; brother Dale Robson, sister Dee (Steve) Stewart, Linacy. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leslie is predeceased by her foster parents Kenneth and Sheila Robson, Stellarton; and sister Debbie Robson, Stellarton. We will miss the sound of upbeat music in Leslie’s home and car but we take solace knowing that she is dancing in heaven today. Leslie will be remembered for her beautiful, contagious, smile, joie de vivre and the fun she brought to many lives. Cremation has occurred and there will be no visitation. A service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton at 1:30 pm on September 24th, all are welcome to attend. Masks are required and Covid-19 protocols will be in place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roots for Youth. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
