Obituary of Marjorie Shirley Linthorne

Marjorie Shirley (Curry) Linthorne age 90 of Stellarton , the wife of the late Harvey Linthorne and a daughter of the late Neil and Hazel (Pettigrew) Curry of Springhill passed away peacefully on July 15th ,2021 surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie had a beautiful spirit. She was a loving ,caring person and had a heart of gold. Mum enjoyed helping people . She worked as a waitress for many years. She loved meeting people , making them smile while making many friends. The girls that worked with her all called her Mum. She was at the Peter Pan for 22 years and enjoyed every day of it. Mum also loved to dance, made fruit cakes for people as far away as Ontario, as well as making wedding cakes, pastries for the Peter Pan. She was in the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Br#28 .SharonSt. John United Church was a favorite place for her as well. Mum worked hard and with 12 children it wasn’t easy. Surviving are her children : sons Robert (Barb), Gerald (Shelly) and Harold(Debbie),daughters ; Grace, Helen(Mac), Jeanette, Sharon (Mike) ,she was the loving loving grandmother of 29 grandchildren,49 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. Marjorie is also survived by sisters Peggy and Louise. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey , son Fred (Julia) ,daughters Marjorie(Frank), Marlene, Heather, Brenda and son-in-law Bernie Hartling as well as 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson also by 10 sisters and 6 brothers.
She would say if your having a bad day just smile and your day will get brighter as you go through it. You always left her house with a smile on your face and the words : Love N Love N Love you. Sounding in your ears.
She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her .
Will always Love N Love N Love you too.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and7-9 P.M. on Monday July 19th in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home 256 King Street ,New Glasgow . Covid 19 protocol in place ,masks and social distancing required.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 P.M. from Sharon St. John United Church with Rev. Karen Ross officiating . Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital.
