Anne was one of my dearest work friends, she was there when I started and there for a few years after I retired. We shared many stories with no topics barred ! We both loved food and had many cups of tea together. Anne always had a heavy caseload of clients and treated everyone of them with respect, kindness, empathy, and reality. My calculations are that she would have helped several thousands of unemployed persons reach their goals with good advice, retraining both in school and on the job, perhaps assisting them to relocate to where the jobs were, interviewing skills, appropriate dress, etc. She made the HRDC programs work for her clients.
Anne always seemed to be in good cheer, with a smile for everyone, brightenning the workplace, and impacting my life and countless others.
Condolences to Adam, Sara, her grandchildren, and her other close friends.

Anne Dorrington was so much more than a senior who loved family, cats and chatting with friends. She had a very successful career as an Employment Counselor and Program Officer with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. She helped change people's lives, build support agencies for the community, and assist in increasing the level of employment opportunities in her community. She was respected by her coworkers for her patience, good humour and dedication to her work. It was a pleasure to know her and work on northern zone and regional programs with her.
