Kenneth Harold Sartoris, age 79 of Abercrombie, formerly of MacLellan’s Mountain passed away on May 25, 2021 in the Palliative Care Unit of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Wentworth he was a son of the late Percy and Laura (Henderson) Sartoris. In his younger years he worked in the McBean Coalmine in Thorburn and coalmines in Minto, NB. He also worked construction in Halifax, and for many years worked at V 8 Motors, Archimedes Street, New Glasgow. He was a devoted husband and father and loving grandfather to as he would say “The best grandchildren in the world” and his loyal dog Jake. He loved spending time attending all their activities and games and taking care of his grandchildren “My 3 boys and princess”. He loved working in the woods, gardening and farming and chatting with neighbors. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. He loved having the grandchildren by his side doing the barn work and taking care of the animals. He enjoyed special weekend summer visits from Cheryl, Jay, Krista Sartoris and families. He is survived by his wife Lillas (Fraser), Abercrombie; daughter Kimberly (Doug)Cyr, grandchildren Colin and Gena; son Derrick (Michele); grandchildren Dillon and Matt; sisters Beatrice (Bob Stewart), Winter Haven, Florida; Laura Mae, Massachusetts; numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. He was predeceased by brothers Gordon, John, Carson, Lloyd, Lawson and Wylie, sisters Vivian, Mary and Evelyn. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all the help and care Dr. Lana, Dr. M. MacCara, Palliative Care Doctors Kwasnik and Dr. Horton, ER Doctors and staff, the palliative care team, VON, Vital Air, and EHS Teams, Palliative Care Unit Team at the Aberdeen Hospital and Walmart Pharmacy staff. Dad often expressed his appreciation for all the help and care given to him. Thank-you to family, friends’ neighbors and co-workers and the H.W. Angus Funeral Home for your support. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service or visitation at the request of the deceased.
