It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Leo “Joseph” Crawly age 64, of Trenton, NS on February, 16th, 2021. Joe passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his family by his side. Joe was born March 8, 1956 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow to the late “Leo” Herbert and Violet “Mabel” (Luddington) Crawly of Trenton, NS. Joe was employed at Trenton Works until retirement in 2000 due to health issues. In Joe’s early years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and going for drives on his motor bike. Joe is survived by his best friend and wife of 33 years Shirley (Anderson), Trenton; chosen daughter Nastasia Ivanova, Belarus; his mother Mabel Crawly, Trenton; sisters Gladys Crawly, Trenton; Linda Myott, Westville; brother John (Kathleen) Crawly, Hillside; mother-in-law Helen Anderson, Trenton; brothers-in-law Peter and Billy Anderson, Trenton; Danny (Darlene) Anderson, Trenton; sisters-in-law Daisy (Todd) Fraser, Hillside; Margie (Billy) Fraser, Trenton; Edith (Scott) Forsyth, New Glasgow; Karen (Dustin) Rioux, Onslow; 5 grandchildren Carson, Tristan, Susie, George and Sophia; God-Children Rose Billington, Susie Billington, Diane Billington, Ashton Forsyth, and Curtis Forsyth; 17 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his father Leo Crawly, father-in-law Melburn Anderson, paternal grandparents Leo and Gladys Crawly, maternal grandparents George and Viola Luddington, and brother-in-law Dennis Myott. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery, Trenton. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
