So saddened to hear of Bert's passing, I am honored to have known him and all the conversations with him over the years while he lived in the assisted living section of Glen Haven.
I enjoyed his many stories of when he was younger working the mines and working summer jobs on farms in the valley.
He was an avid war buff and he could recite many war stories even though he was very young when it was all happening ,he told me of travelling to Germany and different places in Europe where he knew of the events that had happened during the war.
Rest easy Bert! It was a privilege to have known you and talk to you over the years.
Condolences to his family.
