Obituary of Diana Theresa Shakness

Diana Theresa Roberta Shakness age 79 of the Valley View Villa ,Riverton and formerly of Westville Road ,passed away on Thursday December 10th ,2020 in Valley View Villa. Born in New Glasgow she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Tait) Betts. Diana was a longtime resident of Westville Road . During her working years she was employed with the Heather Motel and the Alma Hotel. Diana was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. The greatest joy in life for Diana was her family. Surviving are a son Robert (Kayla) Shakness of Stellarton daughters; Dawn (Darin)Geddes of Foxbrook , Karen (John) Megeney of Medicine Hat ,Alberta , Kelly Shakness of Westville Road . A number of grandchildren and great grandchildren , a brother Robert (Bobby) (Laureen) Betts of Westville ,sister-in-law Kit Betts of New Glasgow , a number of nieces and nephews .Diana was predeceased by her husband Earl ,sons Gregory and Leo ,a brother Hughie. A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 15 th at 2 P.M. in the Mt. William Cemetery with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson officiating . Donations in memory of Diana may be made to Valley View Villa or the Alzheimer Society. The family would like to thank the Valley View Villa staff for the care and compassion shown to their mother while she was a guest there.
