Obituary of Peter Fraser Wilkinson
Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Fraser Wilkinson, of Plymouth. He passed away peacefully on October 21, 2020 at home after a battle with cancer. Born in Broadway on October 9, 1940 to the late William A. and the late Margaret “Middy” Wilkinson (Fraser) of Broadway.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Sharon Wilkinson (Leil) and his daughter Wendy (Terry) Martin, Kentville and his grandchildren Brody Wilkinson-Martin, Halifax and Shelby Wilkinson-Martin, Kentville.
Peter is also survived by his sisters Betty (the late Chipman Reid), Trenton; Margaret (George) DeYoung, Plymouth, Marion Miller, Lansing, Michigan; and brothers Frank (Maureen), Westville; and James, Broadway.
Peter also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents, in laws James and Laura (Hanes) Leil, and his beloved loyal dog Farley.
He started his career driving for Acadia Lines and remained a dedicated driver for various companies in the years to follow. Peter was a friend to everyone he met and could always be found working on his wood pile or visiting on the front porch.
Peter’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren. He was forever committed to being there when needed and never failing to cook breakfast. He will be remembered as the GREATEST PAPA there ever was.
Per his wishes there will be no visitation. A private family burial will be held at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Egerton on October 26, 2020. Donations in his memory may be made to the Plymouth Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Department and the Halifax Haven Guest Home. A special thank-you to the VON staff, Palliative Care staff and pharmacist Janice DeCoste.
