Obituary of Cavell DeWolfe

Please share a memory of Cavell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Cavell Dewolfe announce her passing at the age of 82 at the Glen Haven Manor. Born in New Glasgow on April 16 1938, Cavell is survived by her brother Wayne (Debbie) Urquhart, New Glasgow; son Wayne Campbell, Alma; daughter Cindy (Rusty) Campbell, MacLellans Brook; grandchildren Morgan (Chris) Campbell, Halifax; Darby (Matthew) Campbell, Hopewell; great grandchildren Shelby Campbell, Sophia Campbell; nieces Jane (Sean) Urquhart MacDonald; nephew Jeff (Cathy) Urquhart; great nieces Lucy and Grace MacDonald, Ruby Urquhart; great nephews Mathew and David MacDonald, Riley Himmelman and Mason Urquhart and lifelong friend Susan Totten. Predeceased by her parents Alonzo and Lucy (Cameron) Urquhart, aunts Jessie Carmen, Dorothy Cameron and Peg Monroe and previous husband Aubrey Dewolfe. Cavell was an operator for a telephone company in Manitoba where she gave birth to her children, and then moved home and started a job at the Aberdeen Hospital as a switch board operator. She was passionate about her work and spent over 20 years there before retiring in 1995. During her time there Cavell made many close friends who she loved keeping in touch with as time passed. Cavell will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who has had the privilege of knowing her. Where ever she went she left a lasting impression on those who met her. In her later years, her favourite time was spent with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, with animals, and with special friends Buck and Dianne MacLean and Kathy Walker. She enjoyed knitting and baking and took pride in the sweaters, blankets and sweets she would create for her family. Special thanks to the staff at the Glen Haven Manor for caring for Cavell and being her second family during these unprecedented times. Your kindness will never be forgotten. A private family ceremony will be held at Brookside Cemetery, on Thursday September, 17th at 11 am. Cavell always took time to give to those less fortunate than her, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
