George Stanley Coady August 3, 1953 – August 11, 2020 Priestville- it is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of George Stanley Coady Sr. - 67, August 11, 2020 in a tragic accident at his home in Priestville. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late John Joseph “Jack” and Edith May (Stallard) Coady. Dad’s whole world revolved around his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and fur babies. He was a former employee of Maritime Steel and MacDonald’s Hyde Shop. He was a “jack of all trades” always building or fixing something in his yard. Dad was an ardent Edmonton Oilers Fan which he passed down to his son and his grandson. He was a humorous story teller, and had a story for every occasion. Dad was a loving and devoted husband, father and papa to his grandchildren whom were his whole life. He was proud of his family and loved sharing stories of them with others. He was a good friend and neighbor, loving brother and uncle; always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, especially his fur babies Mason, Jax, and Benny who looked forward to the ice cream treats he took them for. Surviving are his wife of 44 years Sheila Marie (Dwyer) Coady; his son George “Geordy” (Andrea), MacPherson’s Mills; daughter Angie, Priestville; grandchildren Karlie and Kendall Rogers and their father Kent Rogers, Skyler, Kaylee and Paisley Coady; chosen grandchildren Andrew, Brittany, Cory and Bradley MacKenzie; brothers William, Gary (Doreen), Ranny, (Velvet), Tommy (Louise), Ross(Cathy); sisters Elsie MacDonald, Mary MacDonald (Johnny), Helen Chapman (Jackie), Nan (Cliff), Corrine Brow, Pearl Priest (Raymond), ;sisters-in-law Joanna Coady, Marina Coady, Teresa MacKenzie, (Gary), Caroline Pettipas; brothers-in-law John (Sandra) Dwyer, Milton (Elsie) Stewart, David (Gail) Dwyer; many many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by in laws Doris and Frank Dwyer, sister Margaret Michaud, brothers John “Peewee”, Robert, and James Coady; brothers-in-law Delbert Michaud, Gerry Jamieson; Calvin MacDonald, James Stewart and Leo Pettipas; sisters-in law Pauline and Debbie Coady. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow masks are required and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family funeral service will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson Murdock officiating. Burial will be in the Priestville Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Kitten Suites Rescue Society of Pictou County. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
