John Edward “Eddy” Cameron It is with great saddened hearts we announce the passing of John Edward “Eddy” Cameron, age 71 , on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Valley View Villa, Riverton. Eddy was the son of the late John William George and Ruth Winnifred Cameron. Eddy attended St. Mary’s High School and then went on to Pictou County Community College where he obtained a welding certificate. He worked many jobs before becoming employed with Michelin Tire as a Dye Technician retiring after 36 years. Eddy lived in Lower Barneys River with his wife Linda and sons George and Danny. He was an active member of Merigomish and District Fire Department. He was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Managers and was a member of the church choir. He also served on the Murray’s Point Cemetery Committee and was a member of the Sea People Players. Ed and Linda moved to Stellarton to be close to family and start a new chapter in their journey of life. Eddy enjoyed playing cards, a game of golf and watching sports on tv. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and enjoyed nascar racing. He especially enjoyed attending his grandson’s hockey games. Ed was a good friend and would do anything he could to help anyone. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He leaves behind a legacy of love to family, friends and co-workers. Eddy is survived by his wife Linda, sons George (Tara); Danny, grandsons Covey, Cale, Hank, Clyde, sisters Debbie (Melvin) Cruickshank, Caledonia; Donna (Rob) Douglas, New Glasgow; brothers Arnie (Debbie), Hopewell; Alvin (Joy) , Durham; sister-in-law Donna Cameron, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ruth Cameron, brother Roy, his in-laws John and Rose MacKinnon, brothers-in-law Lewis Murray MacKinnon and John Watt. A family visitation will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A family service will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson Murdock officiating. Burial will be in Murrays Point Cemetery. Family flowers only.
